Robbie and I are pleased to announce that Sunflower Tanka has its own site: sunflowertankaanthology.com. We’re both committed to providing a place for syllabic poets to publish their poetry. The posts for Sunflower Tanka have moved to that address. Throughout the year, we will post information on the various syllabic forms for the anthology. We […]

Hi! Welcome back to #TankaTuesday. Let’s write syllabic poetry together! Just a quick update: I’m going to stop the additional 72 micro seasons challenge. It’s too much for many (including myself). The links are at the top of the menu for the 72 micro seasons. Feel free to write poetry on your blog using those […]

A question to clarify. Do we capitalize the first words in each line of a tanka puente? I notice the example you give does, but you reminded us that tanka poems do not use capitalization.

No, we shouldn’t capitalize the first letter of each line in tanka. I’ll correct that poem. There are some poets who write freestyle poetry and they forget to not capitalize. I try to catch this issue through editing the journal. Thanks for catching that error. 💜
